Grand Skógafoss
Skógafoss is a waterfall on the Skógá River in the south of Iceland at the cliff marking the former coastline. Skógafoss is one of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland, with a drop of some 60 meters and a width of 25 meters. Cascading over dramatic black rock cliffs and contrasting spectacularly against the surrounding emerald green landscapes, it's considered to be the "perfect waterfall".
It was raining heavily the day I visited Skógafoss. It was hard to capture the waterfall’s majesty with rain drops constantly misting the camera lens. Frequent wiping with a lint-free cloth and a small air blower finally let me get the shot I wanted. There were not many people out in the rain that day - there was just one more person, who was also trying to get that perfect shot. So I decided to include her in the frame and it created this contrasting perspective of how small we are in front of mother nature.
